In today's globally dispersed workforce ensuring access to corporate resources while on the field or remote office is critical in keeping commitments with customers and meeting specific productivity goals. A growing number of mobile workforce now find themselves working most of the time outside the confines of their offices making it imperative for resources such as telephony, fax, email, conferencing and voice messaging services to be accessible through a secure public broadband connection or a standard PSTN service.
The ICMS MessageWorx is a Unified Communications application that leverages on SIP-based signaling and a feature called "presence" to detect the active presence of a user in the network. Calls can be "forkerd" to multiple target devices so that a caller can ring only the device that the user is active in. Voice messages, faxes and even offline video messages can be sent to a single inbox as either an email attachment or as a separate message.
Using the MessageWorx text-to-speech and speech-to-text feature, users can dictate instructions or receive audio readouts after entering a valid voice or DTMF authorization. Voice command guarantees that the user will be able to issue commands to specific applications in the absence of an input device such as a keyboard or a mouse (in cases where a remote agent or user may be out of the office and accessing corporate resources using a public telephone).
